Civil Motions and Hearings General Info

 

Amador Superior Court Clerk's Office hours of operation are 9:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. The Court House will be open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for access to the courtrooms. But the public counters are unavailable until 9:30 am.

Overview of Which Departments Hear Civil Matters

Limited and Unlimited Civil actions are heard in Department Two.  Small Claims cases are heard by a Judge Pro Tem in Department Three.

If a judge has been assigned for all purposes, all motions will be heard in that department.

 

When Motions and Hearings are Set

Civil Law and Motion hearings are set on Fridays at 10:00 a.m.

The motion date is to be reserved in advance by calling 209-257-2603.

 

Filing Instructions

Motions are filed in the Clerks Office at 500 Argonaut Lane, Jackson, CA.

 

Oppositions and Replies

All papers opposing a motion shall be filed in the Clerks Office, and shall be served upon opposing counsel, pursuant to the Rules of Court, before the hearing by personal delivery, telecopy, express mail, or other means designated to ensure that the opposition and reply papers are received no later than one Court day after filing.

Failure to comply with the requirements concerning filing and serving opposing and reply papers may, in the discretion of the Court, be deemed cause for acting on the matter without consideration of the document filed in violation of the requirements and may be deemed cause for imposing sanctions.

 

Alternatives to Appearing at a Hearing

Pursuant to Local Rule 11.09, a party shall have the option of appearing by telephone.
