The Court will make all reasonable accommodations necessary to provide
access to qualified persons with disabilities. The nature of the accommodation
will depend on the person’s disability and the type of hearing involved.
Court policy applies to a request made by a person with a mobility disability.
A mobility disability is any physical condition that would restrict or
prevent a person from access to a courtroom or any program or service
offered by the court.
Court Procedure is as follows:
- Persons requesting accommodations to attend a court hearing or other
proceeding are asked to complete the Judicial Council Form MC-410. This
form can be obtained from the bailiff, a clerk, or downloaded
here.
- Pursuant to Rules of Court, Rule 989.3, the request should be filed
at least five days prior to the hearing for which the accommodation
is requested.
- In addition, a request for accommodation may be made verbally to
the court, a deputy clerk, or a bailiff. A verbal request for accommodation
will be treated in the same manner as a request submitted on a form
MC-410.
- Based on the information provided in the request, the Court will
determine if a reasonable accommodation can be made. If reasonable accommodation
is possible, the Court will select the most suitable location to hold
the scheduled hearing and notify the parties accordingly.
Persons with disabilities who wish to review court records or obtain access
to other Court programs
or services should contact (209) 257-2603 or ADACoordinator@amadorcourt.org
